Measuring Cardio Protein Concentration
We are working with a University partner to develop electrochemical sensors for clinical detection of numerous medical conditions and screening tools for the general public, including short turnaround time (STAT), single use, and point of care testing. These Nanostructured devices are being built that can measure electrochemical interactions at the molecular level and offer very good sensitivity and selectivity for the detection of proteins in very small solution volumes. The nano sensors are being fabricated by AEgis at Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Center for Nanophase Materials Science (CNMS). As the dimensions of the working electrodes become progressively smaller, their electrochemical behavior improves.

Photonic Crystal Biosensor
nanogenesis is developing an ultra-sensitive bio-detector that employs a nannostructured photonic band gap (PBG) waveguide. The unique optical properties of the PBG structure serve to amplify changes in an optical signal that are induced by the presence of an analyte. The goal is to develop a miniature analytical instrument to aid in research of in-vitro cell differentiation. A cleanroom has been fabricated on-site to support fabrication, test, and development of nanophotonic biodetection technologies.

Pharmaceutical and Toxicology Modeling
acslX provides a flexible Pharmacokinetic modeling tool that predicts drug dispersion and residual drug levels for toxicity and therapeutic threshold analysis. acslX supports both classical and compartmental models so that there is no limit on model simplicity or complexity. Studies are fast and reliable because acslX provides an intuitive user interface along with robust model development, execution, and analysis capabilities. acslX enables users to continuously apply new information to established models and to easily create novel models for new drug products. acslX is used for the following Pharmaceutical and Risk Assessment applications:

    • Classical PK, PBPK, and PD Modeling
    • Exposure and Risk Assessment
    • Toxicity Studies
    • Drug Dispersion (ADMET)
    • Dosimetry/Dose Absorption
    • Drug Portfolio Management
    • Carcinogenesis
